Mandy Boursicot

Mandy Boursicot graduated from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in 1999. She has been a professional artist since then,  receiving national and international recognition with exhibitions in Canada, Europe and Asia. In her works centered around classical figurative art, she is exploring drawings of the human figure and French nineteenth century academic work.  For the past severl years Mandy attended the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where her studies with Maestro John Michael Angel trace a direct 250 year lineage, in the atelier tradition, to Jacques-Louis David.

As a child, Mandy grew up traveling around the world, visiting museums and churches, being exposed to master works of art from an early age. This has had a profound influence in cultivating her deep interest in expressive and representational art. She continues to travel,  to marvel at paintings and sculptures, from antiquity to present day, and to produce works that internalize and express fifty years of accumulated experience.
