Judy is an active mother of three who lives in North Vancouver where she enjoys her large garden and walking her two dogs.
She is not only involved in her career as an artist, but she is also a musician, specializing in songwriting and voice.
She received her formal training at the Vancouver School of Art in the 1970’s and attended S.F.U. to complete her training in education. Judy has held many solo and group shows in various galleries, including Seymour Art Gallery, Vandop and Queens Park Gallery in New Westminster, The Ferry Building and Silk Purse in West Vancouver and is currently represented by The Ballard Lederer Gallery, Ucluelet, B.C.
In the past decade she has taught drawing, watercolour, and acrylic classes in North and West Vancouver Recreation Centres, West Vancouver Seniors Centre and through her home studio. She currently teaches children in the Coquitlam School District with their Artists in the Schools program. She also designs and creates murals. Last year she completed Public Art murals for the City of North Vancouver at the Versatile Shipyards site, Centennial Theatre on Lonsdale Avenue and recently for schools in Coquitlam. She also showcases her mural work throughout her home and works on home interiors by commission.
In the midst of a world filled with images of suffering, her artistic vision gives art lovers a refreshing counterbalance, inviting viewers to reflect on the beauty of creation and thereby renew a sense of hope and wonder.
