for me, these are intimate landscapes, tangled and romantic. somewhere i  stopped looking for the larger panoramas, the definitive, the truth, and as my vision narrowed my horizons widened to include the proximate, the ordinary, the ineffable.

i want to wax poetic about painting, the verb, stroking colour across the canvas can be communion. everything demanding ever more paint, paint piling up, paint piling up - in my search to express - to express -   how much strenghth and beauty in nature, in everything, how much fragility too - overwhelming - i want to share something of that.

in the fury of the moment i see the master's hand, in every leaf that trembles in every grain of sand. - bob dylan
