Amiel Logan

My Sculpture is a reflection on the oddities of our complex society. My playful explorations disrupt the structures of the everyday objects surrounding us, finding new form and spaces within the objects themselves. These subtle structural and material shifts ask the viewer to re-examine what is already known. The delicate balance between function and dysfunction forces the question of value.

Amiel Logan completed his BFA at Emily Carr University of Art and Design, majoring in sculpture. Now based in Vancouver, Logan works in a variety of media, specializing in stone and metal. His pre-occupation with the exploration of material objects maybe the result of a transient childhood divided between Vancouver, Toronto, Victoria, Calgary and London, England.
